ORNGT

The periOperative Registered Nurses of Greater Toronto is a regional group of ORNAO. They required a web site to help publicize their fundraising events and allow prospective members to easily join. They also needed a general location for their existing members to keep up-to-date with upcoming events, past meeting minutes and scholarship information. We created a low-maintenance web site for them which easily allows the editing of their own events calendars, uploading of past meeting minutes for the general membership, as well as management of password-protected content for Executive Members only. Future additions to the site will include a registration system for accepting membership fee payments online.

The Bush Prof

The Bush Prof (aka. Jim McKernan) was looking for a web site to provide additional resources for his students. He wanted an area where he could create and manage his own archive of articles. We created a section that is fully editable by him from the comfort of his home in the remote wilderness of Northern Ontario. The custom interface is clean and simple, providing exactly what he needs to manage his articles, without any unnecessary features.

ORNAA

The Operating Room Nurses of Alberta Association were looking to establish an online presence where they could provide important information to existing members and allow prospective new members to find out about them more readily. They also wanted to use the site as a meeting place for the Executive board to exchange ideas through draft documents, and to provide access to important forms and manuals. We created a password-protected Members Area which enables them to create and manage their own folders and documents, maintain their own user database, as well as easily edit the events calendars of all their districts.

Dr. Catherine Vetrano Dental Centre

Dr. Catherine Vetrano had an existing site with a look she wished to maintain, and needed a company that could effect changes to the site without changing that look. We started by removing the frames to make the site more search engine friendly, then recreated the header graphic in order to reorganize the links and add drop-down menus. Smile Makeover flash animations were redone, and more were added. Keywords were placed to improve search engine ranking.

Party Connection

Party Connection had an existing online shopping site which was not listing well in search engines. We redesigned the entry (splash) page as well as many of the static sub-pages to improve their functionality and aesthetic quality. We also added hidden keywords for search engines.

ORNAO

The site includes an exclusive members area with a friendly interface for accessing important Word, Excel, PowerPoint and PDF documents.

Trenergy Inc.

Trenergy is a large manufacturing facility specializing in boilers. Recently, they considered expanding their product line, and wanted to advertise this to the maximum number of potential clients. The best way to do this is via the Internet, so we created a unique and informative web site with dynamic content that can be modified directly by the client.

Court Jester Creations

The owner of this site required an online resume that would make him "stand out" from the crowd. We constructed a custom TV-style interface (complete with a working remote control) that would allow prospective employers to browse his work with ease without the need to install special plug-ins. The site is entirely HTML/CSS-based, and is compatible with the latest versions of both Internet Explorer and Mozilla (Netscape).

NDT Products Ltd. has been a quality equipment supplier to the NDT community for over 25 years. They required a means to advertise to a larger range of businesses, and also to provide more detailed information about their products in a cost-effective manner. Kozlov Centre

The Kozlov Centre shopping mall in Barrie had an existing site that they wanted upgraded. The changes consisted of quicker-loading graphics, an advertising page for each merchant, a complete visit log system and an Upcoming Events calendar that they could easily update.

ORNAO Conference

The Operating Room Nurses Association of Ontario holds a conference every two years, and were interested in advertising the conference online. We provided them with a venue to do so, while also creating a permanent site that will host an archive of past conferences. The Canadian Institute for NDE is a not-for-profit organization which provides education and membership services to the NDT (Nondestructive Testing) community. They required a visually pleasing yet uncomplicated way to provide information about the organization and the many courses offered, inform the general public about NDT, and increase the benefits to their members. The site includes a guest book, job database, multiple event calendars, bulletin board system, members database, full site search, transparent logging system, and much more. Most sections of the site are designed to be quickly and easily edited by CINDE employees.

Precision Convertors is a quality provider of grinding and straightening services for boat and pump shafts. The design of the site is expandable for all browser resolutions, and utilizes Style Sheets for the drop-down Services menu. The logo was recreated in 3D to better suit the style of the site.

Andrews Trucking is a local boat-hauling company. They had an existing web site, designed by a third party, which they desired to update with new photos and information. We seamlessly integrated a new section into their existing site template and updated the programming of the pages to correct errors and out-dated coding.

Out of the Closet Designs

A unique business needs a unique website, as is clear with Out of the Closet Designs. The owner wanted something eye-catching yet tasteful and not overpowering for the viewer. We accomplished this with some custom graphics integrated with a standard navigational scheme. The site is expandable for nearly any browser resolution and does not require special plug-ins.

Fountain Of Life Fellowship

Fountain Of Life Fellowship was a Foursquare Gospel church located in the Niagara Region, Ontario, Canada. Since they did not previously have an online identity or even a church logo, their entire site was designed from scratch. The site took shape from a photo of a local fountain taken by our in-house photographer, and the logo of their parent organization, the "Foursquare Gospel Church of Canada".

Dirty Bomb Detector

For this new product, the client wanted to create an easy to use and informative web site to promote his product and attract new retailers. This was accomplished with a simple yet eye-catching layout. We also created product information sheets for distribution and an interactive product manual on CD, all of which matched the look of the web site.

This was a redesign of an existing web site with a complex amount of information on it. We streamlined the data, making it easy for new visitors to understand while still maintaining detailed information for the more advanced user. We also updated the graphics, added an eye-catching flash animation and integrated everything into a cleaner template with drop-down menus for navigation.

Antichità On-Line

Antichità, a company offering tours of the Mediterranean, desired a complete overhaul of their web site and a design company that would make updates quickly and reliably. They received that and more. With the upgrade of the site graphics, a new 3D version of their logo was created. The contact form was reworked and a CGI form-to-mail program was added.

This popular fan site was in the market for a facelift. The owner wanted a new look that was both artistic and functional. We provided him with a new layout, custom navigational graphics and a new logo. A.V.S. Enterprise Inc.

This site was an online shopping mall consisting of various stores. A.V.S. required a flexible, fast catalogue and shopping basket system, with secure checkout for credit card orders. This was accomplished with a series of custom CGI scripts, written to accommodate the ever-changing product line of A.V.S. The site also included custom encryption technology developed exclusively by Horizons Web Design.
